Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain

Successful Stallion Grading at Streethill Farm

Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain was delighted with the success of their Stallion Grading last Tuesday at Streethill Farm, Lowesby in Leicestershire.

All four of the stallions presented for assessment passed, probably the first time there has been a 100% success rate at any British stallion grading.

British breeding received a huge boost as three of the horses were British bred and presented by their owner/breeders. The fourth, a Thoroughbred horse, was bred in America.

The successful horses were:

TIGER ATTACK – 3 year old by Dolphin Supreme (TB) ex Tiger Lilly (SHB(GB) Head Stud Book) owned and bred by Mr & Mrs W Moran from Houghton- le-Spring .

PENNINEVIEW SILVER CONCORDE – 6 yr old by Z.Concorde (KWPN) ex Silver Squirrel (TB) owned and bred by Mr & Mrs C Thompson from Harrogate.

PSH UNRIVALLED – 6 yr old by Song Song Blue (Hann) ex Primitive Purple Streak (TB)
owned and bred by Mr G Power from Newtown in Powys.

ALKAASED – 15 yr old TB by Kingmambo ex Chesa Plana bred by Clovelly Farms USA and owned by Mr W Smith at Kelanne Stud in Hampshire. A Group 1 winner on the track and the sire of 163 winners of 544 races.

We are delighted to announce that the British Breeders’ Network website went live on 5th March, at the same time as Jane Nixon a highly respected equine vet and BEF Director of Equine Development was delivering a speech on the newly created Network to the National Equine Forum in London. While feedback on the new website is welcomed, please bear in mind that any new website will require a period of “bedding in”. We hope to see many of you registering to become Network Members via the website online registration page shortly.
